About Floresta
Floresta is a fine-grained sandstone sourced from Spain, known for its warm beige and cream tones that give it a subtle, natural elegance. The stone displays a fine, uniform grain with occasional gentle veining, making it versatile for both interior and exterior applications. Floresta is ideal for flooring, wall cladding, countertops, and decorative facades, and it responds well to polished, honed, or brushed finishes. Marmi di Carrara supplies Floresta in large blocks, ready-to-cut slabs of 2–3 cm thickness, and offers custom cuts to exact dimensions. Before purchase, clients can view high-resolution photos of actual slabs to ensure the stone meets their design expectations.
Typically beige and cream sandstone.

Finishes for Floresta
Honed
Smooth and matt, with a soft satin look. Hides small scratches and etching better than a polish and is safer underfoot.
Sandblasted
A fine, even roughness obtained with a jet of sand. Lightens the colour and gives grip: used for exteriors, steps and pool surrounds.
Bush-hammered
A rough, pitted surface made with a toothed hammer. Maximum slip resistance for exterior paving, ramps and steps.
Natural cleft
The stone is split along its natural layers and left as it is: a lively, riven surface with excellent grip.
Care and maintenance
- Clean with water and a neutral detergent; hard stones tolerate everyday use very well.
- Sealing is quick and recommended on light colours and on honed, leathered or flamed finishes.
- Avoid waxes and film-forming products that leave a layer on the surface.
- Outdoors, an occasional wash with a pressure cleaner at moderate pressure restores the colour.
- Hot pans, knives and frost are not a problem for most stones of this family; use trivets anyway to protect sealers.
