About Branco Pérola

Branco Pérola is a pristine white granite quarried in Portugal, prized for its uniform colour and subtle, fine-grained texture. The stone displays a clean, almost marble‑like appearance with occasional faint speckles of darker minerals that add depth without disrupting its overall brightness. Its consistent surface makes it ideal for both polished and honed finishes, suitable for flooring, wall cladding, countertops, and exterior applications where a luminous aesthetic is desired. Marmi di Carrara supplies Branco Pérola in robust blocks and 2‑3 cm thick slabs, offering cut‑to‑size services and real‑time photos of actual slabs before purchase, ensuring confidence in every project.

Typically a white granite composed mainly of quartz, feldspar and biotite.

Finishes for Branco Pérola

Polished

Mirror-like gloss that brings out colour and veining at full depth. The classic choice for walls, tops and interior floors; slippery when wet.

Honed

Smooth and matt, with a soft satin look. Hides small scratches and etching better than a polish and is safer underfoot.

Leathered

A brushed texture on hard stones: matt, lightly textured and very good at hiding fingerprints and water marks on worktops.

Bush-hammered

A rough, pitted surface made with a toothed hammer. Maximum slip resistance for exterior paving, ramps and steps.

Flamed

A thermal finish that makes the crystals burst and leaves a rough, non-slip surface. The standard for exterior granite.

Care and maintenance

  • Clean with water and a neutral detergent; hard stones tolerate everyday use very well.
  • Sealing is quick and recommended on light colours and on honed, leathered or flamed finishes.
  • Avoid waxes and film-forming products that leave a layer on the surface.
  • Outdoors, an occasional wash with a pressure cleaner at moderate pressure restores the colour.
  • Hot pans, knives and frost are not a problem for most stones of this family; use trivets anyway to protect sealers.
