About Almond Mauve

Almond Mauve is a high‑quality granite sourced from China, prized for its elegant violet and purple tones that range from subtle mauve to deep violet. The stone displays a fine, uniform grain with occasional subtle veining, giving it a sophisticated, understated look. It is ideal for both interior and exterior applications, including countertops, flooring, wall cladding, and architectural facades. Almond Mauve responds well to polished, honed, and brushed finishes, each enhancing its natural color and texture. Marmi di Carrara supplies this granite in blocks, 2–3 cm slabs, and cut‑to‑size pieces, and provides detailed photographs of actual slabs before purchase to ensure complete confidence in your selection.

Typically a fine‑grained granite with a violet and purple hue.

Finishes for Almond Mauve

Polished

Mirror-like gloss that brings out colour and veining at full depth. The classic choice for walls, tops and interior floors; slippery when wet.

Honed

Smooth and matt, with a soft satin look. Hides small scratches and etching better than a polish and is safer underfoot.

Leathered

A brushed texture on hard stones: matt, lightly textured and very good at hiding fingerprints and water marks on worktops.

Bush-hammered

A rough, pitted surface made with a toothed hammer. Maximum slip resistance for exterior paving, ramps and steps.

Flamed

A thermal finish that makes the crystals burst and leaves a rough, non-slip surface. The standard for exterior granite.

Care and maintenance

  • Clean with water and a neutral detergent; hard stones tolerate everyday use very well.
  • Sealing is quick and recommended on light colours and on honed, leathered or flamed finishes.
  • Avoid waxes and film-forming products that leave a layer on the surface.
  • Outdoors, an occasional wash with a pressure cleaner at moderate pressure restores the colour.
  • Hot pans, knives and frost are not a problem for most stones of this family; use trivets anyway to protect sealers.
