Finishes for Nero Impala
Polished
Mirror-like gloss that brings out colour and veining at full depth. The classic choice for walls, tops and interior floors; slippery when wet.
Honed
Smooth and matt, with a soft satin look. Hides small scratches and etching better than a polish and is safer underfoot.
Leathered
A brushed texture on hard stones: matt, lightly textured and very good at hiding fingerprints and water marks on worktops.
Bush-hammered
A rough, pitted surface made with a toothed hammer. Maximum slip resistance for exterior paving, ramps and steps.
Flamed
A thermal finish that makes the crystals burst and leaves a rough, non-slip surface. The standard for exterior granite.
Care and maintenance
- Clean with water and a neutral detergent; hard stones tolerate everyday use very well.
- Sealing is quick and recommended on light colours and on honed, leathered or flamed finishes.
- Avoid waxes and film-forming products that leave a layer on the surface.
- Outdoors, an occasional wash with a pressure cleaner at moderate pressure restores the colour.
- Hot pans, knives and frost are not a problem for most stones of this family; use trivets anyway to protect sealers.
