About Droiturier

Droiturier is a premium French granite known for its elegant grey hue and subtle, fine-grained texture. Harvested from the renowned quarries of the French Alps, this stone showcases a consistent, muted palette that lends itself to both contemporary and classic design palettes. Its subtle veining and uniform grain make it ideal for high-traffic floors, kitchen countertops, and sophisticated wall cladding. Droiturier performs exceptionally well with polished, honed, and brushed finishes, offering a versatile range of aesthetics. Marmi di Carrara supplies Droiturier in ready-to-install slabs of 2–3 cm thickness, custom-cut blocks, and provides high-resolution photographs of actual slabs before purchase, ensuring transparency and confidence for architects, designers, and stone buyers.

Typically a fine-grained granite with subtle grey matrix and minimal veining.

Finishes for Droiturier

Polished

Mirror-like gloss that brings out colour and veining at full depth. The classic choice for walls, tops and interior floors; slippery when wet.

Honed

Smooth and matt, with a soft satin look. Hides small scratches and etching better than a polish and is safer underfoot.

Leathered

A brushed texture on hard stones: matt, lightly textured and very good at hiding fingerprints and water marks on worktops.

Bush-hammered

A rough, pitted surface made with a toothed hammer. Maximum slip resistance for exterior paving, ramps and steps.

Flamed

A thermal finish that makes the crystals burst and leaves a rough, non-slip surface. The standard for exterior granite.

Care and maintenance

  • Clean with water and a neutral detergent; hard stones tolerate everyday use very well.
  • Sealing is quick and recommended on light colours and on honed, leathered or flamed finishes.
  • Avoid waxes and film-forming products that leave a layer on the surface.
  • Outdoors, an occasional wash with a pressure cleaner at moderate pressure restores the colour.
  • Hot pans, knives and frost are not a problem for most stones of this family; use trivets anyway to protect sealers.
