About Andeer
Andeer is a classic Swiss granite quarried in the Alpine region of Switzerland. It displays a uniform grey background with subtle speckles of darker minerals, giving it a refined, understated elegance. The stone’s medium‑fine grain and occasional faint veining make it suitable for both polished and honed finishes, ideal for flooring, wall cladding, countertops and outdoor applications. Marmi di Carrara supplies Andeer in robust blocks and ready‑to‑install slabs of 2–3 cm thickness, offering cut‑to‑size service and high‑resolution photos of actual slabs before purchase, ensuring architects and designers can specify with confidence.
Typically a grey granite composed of quartz, feldspar and biotite.

Finishes for Andeer
Polished
Mirror-like gloss that brings out colour and veining at full depth. The classic choice for walls, tops and interior floors; slippery when wet.
Honed
Smooth and matt, with a soft satin look. Hides small scratches and etching better than a polish and is safer underfoot.
Leathered
A brushed texture on hard stones: matt, lightly textured and very good at hiding fingerprints and water marks on worktops.
Bush-hammered
A rough, pitted surface made with a toothed hammer. Maximum slip resistance for exterior paving, ramps and steps.
Flamed
A thermal finish that makes the crystals burst and leaves a rough, non-slip surface. The standard for exterior granite.
Care and maintenance
- Clean with water and a neutral detergent; hard stones tolerate everyday use very well.
- Sealing is quick and recommended on light colours and on honed, leathered or flamed finishes.
- Avoid waxes and film-forming products that leave a layer on the surface.
- Outdoors, an occasional wash with a pressure cleaner at moderate pressure restores the colour.
- Hot pans, knives and frost are not a problem for most stones of this family; use trivets anyway to protect sealers.
