About Breccia Carsica

Breccia Carsica is a natural breccia quarried in Italy, prized for its vibrant multicolour palette that ranges from warm earth tones to cool greys. The stone displays a distinctive pattern of angular fragments set in a fine matrix, creating a lively, textured surface that works well in both contemporary and classic settings. It is suitable for polished, honed or brushed finishes, making it ideal for flooring, wall cladding, countertops and outdoor applications. Marmi di Carrara supplies Breccia Carsica in blocks and 2‑3 cm thick slabs, cut‑to‑size on request, with real‑project photos available before purchase.

Typically a multicolour breccia composed of angular fragments cemented by a fine matrix.

Finishes for Breccia Carsica

Polished

Mirror-like gloss that brings out colour and veining at full depth. The classic choice for walls, tops and interior floors; slippery when wet.

Honed

Smooth and matt, with a soft satin look. Hides small scratches and etching better than a polish and is safer underfoot.

Care and maintenance

  • Clean with water and a neutral detergent made for natural stone; rinse and dry.
  • Avoid acids and descalers (vinegar, lemon, anti-limescale sprays): they etch calcite and dull a polished surface.
  • Seal with an impregnating protector after laying and repeat when water no longer beads, typically every 1–3 years on tops.
  • Wipe wine, coffee, oil and citrus juice straight away, especially on kitchen and vanity tops.
  • A dulled or scratched surface can be re-honed or re-polished on site: the stone is the same through its whole thickness.
